Welcome to Wedding religious ceremony
A wedding is a civil or religious ceremony which celebrates the beginning of a marriage. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. In some countries, cultures and religions, the actual act of marriage begins during the wedding ceremony. In others, the legal act of marriage occurs at the time of signing a marriage license or other legal document, and the wedding is then an opportunity to perform a traditional ceremony and celebrate with friends and family.
Weddings - Wedding Invitation Dilemma
Wedding Salon is having a big wedding next year and will be inviting everyone in our lives, including two close friends of the family who don't speak to each other anymore. The trouble is that Friend #1's wife had an affair with Friend #2 many years ago. The affair ended and Friend #1's marriage survived, but there is still a lot of anger and resentment over this issue.
I don't want a confrontation at this wedding, but I also don't want to hurt either friend by not inviting them.
Friend #1 is very important to our family and it is critical to all of us that he be there, but I know he won't attend if he knows Friend #2 will be there. In fact, he'll very likely feel hurt and betrayed that Friend #2 was invited in the first place. However, Friend #2 is very excited about the wedding and he's already making plans to attend, even though the invitations haven't been sent yet. I'm sure Friend #2 thinks that this is all in the past and doesn't matter anymore, but Friend #1 is still very upset about what happened.
